MINI MOVERS & SENIOR STREET

I have been performing for as long as I can remember. Coming from a Filipino family, there would always be karaoke at the parties which initially gave me my love for Music. My love for music made me want to do everything I could related to music whether that was singing, dancing and playing instruments.

When I was 7, my Primary School started a Street Dance club, where I learnt the basics of Breaking, Hip-Hop, Popping, and Locking. During this time, I battled other Street Dancers in Slough and Windsor, and I also did a few in London.

After Primary School, I started teaching myself by watching YouTube videos and freestyling, just as a hobby. Then for my 15th Birthday, my parents took me to see Miss Saigon in the West End. It was at that moment I realised I wanted to perform as my career. It started with being a UK Dance Representative for TFCkat, a Worldwide Filipino Talent Competition. After that, I joined my local AmDram Theatre Company’s called StageOneYouth and SWMTC. I was also Dance Captain for my School competing in UK Rock Challenge. I still wanted to improve my performing ability which led me to do West End Kids: Training for 1.5 years, which gave me my first introduction to Musical Theatre Dance and Singing styles.

I then went to The Henley College for 2 years, where I got my BTEC in Performing Arts. After that, I trained at Italia Conti Academy for 3 years where I got my Diploma in Musical Theatre, graduating in 2022.

Since then, I have been a part of Icon: The Kpop Musical Workshop, I choreographed and performed in Jack and the Beanstalk (Newham Off-WestEnd Pantomime) which got me an Offie Award Nomination. I have also done Backup Up Vocals for Upcoming Artist Vicky Trantou. I have also performed with apl.de.ap (Black Eyed Peas) in London’s Barrio Fiesta and have also worked as a Featured Dancer for Films.

I have also carried on my training by going to Base and finding opportunities to learn from the best in the country and world. I have learnt from the likes of Lukas McFarlane, Kenny Wormald, Misha Gabriel, Alex Chambers, Kamila Zalewska, Josh Wharmby, Sisco Gomez, Shay Latukolan and many more.

As a teacher, I love to still take classes because I believe a good student makes a good teacher. I have been teaching for 3 years and it is something I always look forward to in the week. My teaching style mainly focuses on having foundation/groove a2 Columnnd musicality. I always try to give them choreography that can challenge them, encouraging my students to make mistakes as it is the first step to improvement
